Yellow Lotus Yoga originally opened its doors in Carbondale, IL in 2009 before moving to Kansas City in 2017.  Our mission is to provide an environment in which practitioners can unwind, reset and replenish.  All classes are designed to playfully uplift and support each person in a way that is both safe and supportive.  Practitioners are encouraged to strive for their personal best as they let go and connect to their innermost potential.  As we explore the art of Yoga, we recognize that Yoga is not a process to get somewhere, but instead a process of opening to the inherent goodness that resides within.

Sandy’s yoga classes are taught with a focus on intention, alignment, breathing and exploration while remembering to have fun.  She creates a calming, meditative and supportive atmosphere for her students to integrate mind, body and heart, as they relax and increase strength and flexibility.  She challenges her students to find the right amount of ease and effort not only on the mat, but off as well.  It is her goal that her students leave each class feeling balanced and energized, with a deeper understanding and connection to themselves and others.  She believes yoga is a powerful tool that can be used to reduce and neutralize stress while creating space in our lives- to breathe, contemplate, let go, rejuvenate and, of course, bend and stretch!
