Thai Yoga bodywork is a highly effective and dynamic form of body therapy originating in ancient Thailand and rooted in the therapeutic traditions of yoga and Ayurveda. Thai Yoga is performed on a cushioned floor mat in loose and comfortable clothing (without the use of oils). In receiving Thai Yoga, one is also receiving the benefits of yoga as the recipient is gently guided through a series of yoga-like stretches. A Thai Yoga session also incorporates palming and thumbing along energy lines and pressure points thus promoting the free flow of prana (life energy). Using soothing rhythmic movement, joints are opened and muscles and tendons are stretched while soft tissues and internal organs are toned.
